"TOKYO GUNDAM IN THE FUTURE" Projection Mapping Event Draws 4,000 Visitors on Opening Day

The Tokyo skyline lit up in spectacular fashion as "TOKYO GUNDAM IN THE FUTURE" made its dazzling debut at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. Held as part of the "TOKYO Night & Light" series — a projection mapping event that transforms the city’s landmarks with breathtaking displays of light and sound — this special Gundam showcase is already winning rave reviews.

Approximately 4,000 attendees, including families and international visitors, gathered at Tomin Hiroba on Saturday, April 26th to witness the grand opening. The audience was captivated by vivid visuals that brought Gundam and a host of mobile suits to life against the massive façade of Building No. 1. A newly colored Gundam also made its debut, weaving a parallel future narrative where mobile suits collaborate in space development.

"It felt like Gundam was really moving inside the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building — it was so much fun, and I could easily take pictures with my smartphone!" shared one guest.
Another overseas visitor remarked, "I've seen projection mapping back home, but this was on a whole different level. The quality of the content and the technology was incredible."

"TOKYO GUNDAM IN THE FUTURE" will continue its screenings three times daily at 19:00, 20:00, and 21:00 until Tuesday, May 6th (holiday). Starting Saturday, May 10th, the showtimes will shift to 19:30, 20:30, and 21:30.
