Japan Airlines (JAL) has officially revealed the Osaka-Kansai Expo-spec "JAL Gundam JET" and a Gundam-themed restaurant bus, bringing a new level of excitement to travelers and Gundam fans alike. A special press unveiling event was held today, March 3, at Haneda Airport in Tokyo, marking the official launch of the aircraft on domestic routes.
JAL Gundam JET: A Specially Designed Aircraft for the Expo
As part of the "JAL x GUNDAM FLY TO THE FUTURE PROJECT", the JAL Gundam JET features an exclusive livery inspired by the RX-78F00/E Gundam (EX-001 Glass Feather Equipped)—a new mobile suit appearing in Bandai Namco Holdings’ "GUNDAM NEXT FUTURE PAVILION" at the Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025. The aircraft also showcases the Expo’s official character, Myaku-Myaku.
Key Figures Share Their Vision
At the unveiling ceremony, representatives from JAL, Bandai Namco Holdings, and the Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition shared their thoughts on this unique collaboration.
- Kumiko Miyasaka (JAL Executive Managing Officer, West Japan Branch President):
“We hope this initiative brings travelers together, encourages tourism across Japan, and contributes to a 'happy society' beyond the Expo.”
