The Gundam universe is about to expand once again with the arrival of Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX, a groundbreaking anime series set to debut in 2025.

This latest addition promises a fresh take on Gundam, blending innovative animation and storytelling under the leadership of acclaimed creator Kazuya Tsurumaki, known for his work as assistant director on the legendary anime Neon Genesis Evangelion.

SYNOPSIS

Amate Yuzuriha, a high school girl living a peaceful life in a space colony, gets caught up in an illegal mobile suit combat tournament called the "Clash Battle" after meeting Nyann, a young refugee girl displaced by war. Under the entry name "Machu," Amate pilots the GQUuuuuuuX and throws herself into intense battles.

At the same time, a mysterious mobile suit known as "Gundam" and its young pilot, Shuji, who is being pursued by both the Space Forces and the police, appear before her.

Thus, the world begins to usher in a new era.

Key Staff and Vision

This ambitious project is a collaborative effort, with contributions from Hajime Yatate and Yoshiyuki Tomino, the creators of the Gundam series. Adding to its prestige, Evangelion's Ikuto Yamashita will spearhead the mechanical design, ensuring that the mobile suits retain a cutting-edge aesthetic.

The new GQuuuuuuX (or GKwuX?) mobile suit made its first appearance in a teaser poster at the Gundam NEXT Future (FINAL), generating anticipation among fans and commemorating Gundam’s 45-year legacy.

Early Screening and Theatrical Release

Before its television debut, the anime will receive a special pre-release treatment under the title Mobile Suit Gundam: GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-. Select episodes will be compiled and screened in 373 theaters across Japan starting January 17, 2025, offering fans an exclusive first look at the action and drama.

    1. Why so negative? It looks cool, dynamic, novel, and has some of the most talented people in all of anime attached. Here's hoping your expectations are wildly exceeded.
