Release Date: October 2024
Price: 2,090 Yen

Bandai Spirits has revealed CG images of their next GunPla kit, the HG 1/144 Zaku II Solari. This model is set to debut in "Gundam Requiem for Vengeance," a highly anticipated Netflix original net animation (ONA) series known for its pioneering usage of Unreal Engine 5.

The Zaku II Solari, piloted by the series' protagonist Iria Solari, exhibits an astounding level of detail and color separation. In an homage to the iconic Zaku II units, the kit includes the traditional Zaku machine gun, shoulder shield, and heat hawk, all are recreated to fit the artistic goal of "Requiem for Vengeance.".

The series marks a notable advancement in animation, being the second in the genre to be entirely realized in computer animation, following "Mobile Suit Gundam MS IGLOO," and the first to use Epic Games' Unreal Engine 5. This partnership between Bandai Namco Filmworks, Sunrise, and SAFEHOUSE, with contributions from noteworthy talents such as writer and co-executive producer Gavin Hignight and mechanical designer Kimitoshi Yamane, promises to be a visually spectacular and narratively rich addition to the Gundam saga.

The plot revolves around Iria Solari, a pilot from the Principality of Zeon, and takes place in the latter phases of the One Year War. As a member of the "Red Wolves" division, Solari is critical in protecting the European front against the Earth Federation Forces. This narrative framework sets the setting for a series replete with violent conflicts, strategic confrontations, and a deep study of the characters' motivations and challenges.

  1. the design reminds me of Gundam TB.

Also the release is Autumn? so does that mean we're getting the series in Autumn as well?
