The official Tamashii Nations store via Premium Bandai has finally opened the pre-orders for the Metal Robot Spirits (KA SIGNATURE) S Gundam Booster Unit Type. This high-quality figure was carefully designed and supervised by none other than mechanical designer Katoki Hajime himself, and it certainly has something special to offer!

Modification of Booster Units

One of the primary characteristics of this edition is the booster unit that comes with it. This modification gives the S Gundam extra play value and adaptability by allowing it to be changed into the S Gundam Bst type.

The package also comes with a set of connection parts that enables the sold separately METAL ROBOT Spirits (Ka signature) (SIDE MS) Zeta Plus C  to be transformed into its Bst kind as an added bonus.

MSA-0011 S Gundam

The S Gundam was a heavily armored and well-armed mobile suit made from Gundarium γ alloy composite, giving it exceptional durability. This robustness was particularly beneficial due to Ryou Roots's subpar piloting skills. Developed by Anaheim Electronics after the MSZ-010 ZŖ Gundam, the S Gundam represented a fourth-generation MS. While it utilized a core block system similar to the ZZ Gundam, its design concept was fundamentally different.

The S Gundam's modular design consisted of the FXA-08GB G-Core core fighter and two independent transformable high-speed fighter ships, allowing it to be assembled into a complete mobile suit. The G Attacker (A Parts) was the first fighter vessel, formed from the S Gundam's upper torso. The G Bomber (B Parts) was the second fighter craft, made from the legs and lower torso. If the pilots of these fighter crafts were absent, the autonomous AI system ALICE could control them. Ryou Roots piloted the G-Core (C Parts). Like the MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam, the S Gundam was equipped with two generators in each leg and an additional pair on the shoulders.

MSA-0011[Bst] S Gundam Booster Unit Type

Task Force Alpha's engineers were tasked with improving the S Gundam on the ground. During the design stages for its upgrade to the MSA-0011[Ext] Ex-S Gundam, mechanics from the Pegasus III created several massive booster engine packs. However, after New Desides soldiers attacked certain Federation Fleet units, it was decided to modify the S Gundam by replacing its legs with two boosters.

This led to the creation of the MSA-0011[Bst] S Gundam Booster Unit Type, which was quickly deployed to aid the struggling Federation Forces. The S Gundam Booster Unit Type, equipped with two additional beam cannons and large booster units on its backpack, was extremely fast. However, it had significant limitations in close-quarters combat and struggled with slowing down or stopping due to the lack of apogee motors and vernier thrusters needed for proper maneuvering. Despite these drawbacks, it had the highest acceleration of any mobile suit, second only to the V2 Gundam's 20G suicidal acceleration, making it highly effective in attack operations.
