Mobile Suit Gundam: Silver Phantom Releases First Key Visual

At the GUNDAM Fan e-Festival 2023, Bandai Namco Filmworks and virtual reality (VR) production studio Atlas V released the primary picture. For their next full-length META QUEST VR animation project, Mobile Suit Gundam Silver Phantom, which seems to be a mobile suit's cockpit.


On November 18, during Anime NYC, Ken Iyadomi of Bandai Namco Filmworks and Pierre Zandrowicz of Atlas V revealed the project along with a short teaser trailer that featured the logo. This was the first confirmation of the project. "This is not a game, nor is it just a narrative experience—it's an immersive adventure that leverages the best of both worlds," Zandrowicz stated in reference to the project.


Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance, another recently revealed Gundam project from Bandai Namco Filmworks, consisting of six 30-minute episodes that will stream globally. The entire animation is being produced by Sunrise and Safe House professionals using Unreal Engine 5, a product of Epic Games. The animation's release date has not been disclosed by Bandai Namco Filmworks.

On October 6, Sunrise Beyond published Gundam Build Metaverse, a three-episode animation that commemorates the franchise's tenth anniversary. The initiative further the "Gundam Metaverse" idea that Bandai Namco Entertainment has planned.

  1. I'm not going to buy a VR headset simply for the sake of this. It's strange that they went this route. I'm wondering how they plan to promote gunpla models for this one.
