Premium Bandai Announces a 99,000 Yen DX Chogokin RX-78F00 Gundam Figure

The Gundam Factory Yokohama announces a lottery sale of a DX Chogokin luxury figure of the RX-78F00 Gundam [moving Gundam statue] via Premium Bandai Japan starting April 28, 2023. Release month is December 2023 and a price of 99,000 yen (726 USD). Pre-orders open until May 28th.

The high quality deluxe figure stands for about 370mm or about 14.5 inches tall (1/48 scale), and it features light and sounds matching to the actual moving statue. The set also includes a miniaturized version of the GUNDAM-CARRIER which stands for about 470mm.

In addition to the spot LEDs installed on the base, LEDs are also placed in the main chamber of the head, eyes, shoulders, knees, chest and in the cockpit, . It also includes a voice gimmick that takes the data used in the production of the "Startup Experiment" and also includes "BEYOND THE TIME ~Beyond the Universe of Mobius~" LUNA SEA. The memories and emotions of GFY are awakened by the light and sound production, which lasts around 10 minutes in total.

The inner frame of the figure was based on the frame design that aided the production of Moving Gundam. The joints use a superalloy framework that uses die casting for realistic feel.

The armor parts are detachable to reveal the inner structure based on the actual production of the statue. The removed exterior parts can be hung in the GUNDAM-DOCK for an extended display experience.

The moving Gundam and its facility, Gundam Factory Yokohama, first opened on December 19, 2020. The project has attracted a lot of attention around the world and has been visited by millions of people throughout its existence.

The 18 m tall "Moving Gundam" at Gundam Yokohama Factory has been awarded not just one, but two Guinness World Records for the largest humanoid robot and the largest moving Gundam in the world! The World Record Certification was presented on December 3rd, 2020 to Mr. Yasuo Miyagawa, CEO of GLOBAL CHALLENGE, who also brought the full-size RX-78-2 Gundam, now RX-78F00, to life by shooting it with the help brought to life of the actuated mechanism.

The Gundam Factory Yokohama has also received another year of operation extension until March 31, 2024.
