The XM-X1C Crossbone Gundam X-1 Patchwork is a repaired variant of the XM-X1 Crossbone Gundam X-1 Kai Kai "Skull Heart", appearing in Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam: Steel 7. To facilitate a quick repair of the X-1 Kai Kai "Skull Heart", SNRI utilized spare parts from Tobia Arronax's XM-X3 Crossbone Gundam X-3. Since the original Crossbone Gundams were minor variations of the same base unit, this made it possible to swap X-3’s spare parts onto X-1 with minimal adjustments.
To maintain operational status, SNRI ensured that three units' worth of spare parts were available. Many of the X-3’s spare parts, including its downsized I-field generator, were stored in secret due to their top-secret nature. These were only accessed when absolutely necessary, even keeping them hidden from the Crossbone Vanguard. Additionally, the Patchwork can equip the hook shield, a Federation-designed tool primarily used for collecting space debris but capable of serving as a defensive shield. Over time, this unit would evolve into the XM-X1 Crossbone Gundam X-1 Full Cloth.
