Japan's Largest Museum Wants to See More Gundam in the Next 150 Years

An exhibition commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Tokyo National Museum, titled "National Treasure Exhibition 150 Years Later" is being held at the Tokyo National Museum Hyokeikan from November 2nd.

Th exhibition is the first in the history of the largest Japanese museum. It features different "national treasure" candidates from individuals and companies that they'd like to see more of in the year 2172, which will be in the next 150 years.

The “National Treasure Candidates” are divided into two categories: the “Corporate Category” by exhibitors and cooperating companies, and the “General Category” which are gathered from the general public.

Bandai Namco Group's "Gundam Project" is representing one of the many candidates in the Corporate Category. A special section dedicated to Gundam exhibits how it started in 1979, and how it progress through the years of its existence. 

In addition, the 1/10 scale Gundam that was produced as a prototype during the development process of the Gundam Factory Yokohama's "RX-78F00 moving Gundam" is also on display.

Admission is 1,000 yen for adults, 500 yen for university students, and free for high school students and younger, as well as those under the age of 18 and those over the age of 70.

Commemorative and exclusive merchandise are also going to be sold on the same day of the exhibit's opening.
