Gundam fulfills the role of ambassador for the Japan pavilion at the Expo 2020 Dubai. A high grade kit emerges from the own blue-print designs of Gundam designer Mr. Kunio Okawara himself to celebrate this one of a kind international collaboration.
In an interview, Mr. Okawara mentioned that he wanted to make a concept design for the Gundam, just like, as if it is carrying their national flag, the Japanese flag for this special collaboration. He also, for the first time, incorporated a couple of Kanji characters on the shield decal seal to represent more of their culture, as it looks unique and exotic to other countries, so he wanted to try it.
The kit has an entirely new experience compared to other RX-78-2 Gundam high grade model kits, as this model offers more color separations and newly molded parts, specifically for its arms, knee caps, and even for its beam sabers.
A sheet of foil stickers is also printed to help with the color separation and to add white accents to the kit, which is completely optional of course, when choosing the path of painting the model.
The kit, of course, has some great articulation that fits today's GunPla standards and has some room for customizations if you choose to do so! I am also happy to see more options for the hand parts as they've provided us not just two, but four pairs of hands, giving the kit more possibilities.Â
I'd like to thank Premium Bandai for giving me this opportunity to build this amazing kit and add it to my growing collection. This kit will be one of my priced pieces as it represents the home country of my favorite hobby.
