Director and creators of the Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan's Island movie shared a very good news to all fans, that as of Sunday, June 5th, the movie has already sold approximately 150,000 tickets and earned 300 million yen (about 2.3 million US dollars) on its screening in Japan since June 3rd.
In addition, during the movie's commemorative stage greeting on June 5th at the Marunouchi Piccadilly Screen 1 in Tokyo Japan, director Yoshikazu Yasuhiko alongside with the cast and staff including: Shunsuke Takeuchi as Cucuruz Doan, Toru Furuya as Amuro Ray, Toshio Furukawa as Kai Shiden, Yūma Uchida as Marcos, Megumi Han as Sayla Mass, Fu Hirohara as Cara, and theme song singer Hiroko Moriguchi of the movie has expressed their warm regards to all fans who supported the project even before the screening of the official screening of the movie.
The movie celebrates the revival of the "lost" episode of the original Mobile Suit Gundam anime series that first aired in Japan back in 1979. The retelling of the 15th episode has caught the attention of fans with the broaden battle scenes and in depth point of view of what really happened in the Cucuruz Doan's Island.
