New Gundam Build Series Starts in 2019

Sunrise announces at the Gundam's 40th anniversary live-presentation that they are working on a sequel for the Gundam Build Divers series. Title and release date has not yet been determined, but the details will be available on the Gundam Build Divers' official website once everything is set.

Gundam Build Divers debuted in April 2018, and then concluded on its 25th episode in September 2018. The series' goal is to introduce GunPla to different ages by promoting customized works in the series.

  1. I want real gundam series not anymore diver/builder......

    I want a frozen teardrop ova/anime

I want a new IBO universe series

I want a full UC anime adaptation instead of LOLOLOL ova's

Heck I'd accept a post destiny seed anime involving librarium works....

    1. Instead you get 2 seasons of cartoon animals playing a mmo with little kids

    2. And I want a very good Gundam series.

I would prefer Build Fighters 3rd season with cast from previous two seasons, but we can't have nice things... and NZ-666 Kshatriya in MG 1/100 form from Bandai.

    3. Yeah I had some hope when Builder came out, I mean we got a new wing kit, we could have gotten new HG's for all the gundams from wing.............

  2. Let's hope the give the show a decent budget this time.
The show was good, but the animation and ost were subpar for a Build series.

  3. Really? The only way to keep imterest in this type of series is to use GBWC customs in the series.

It'll spark more interest in GBWC and get more viewers who'd like to see their customs animated in a series.

  4. Build Fighters was good. Build Fighters Try was fun. Build Divers was a slow mo trainwreck. Why in God's name did they okay a sequel to one of the weakest shows produced in the Gundam Universe? I don't mind the fact that they are 25 minute ads, at least we get some cool gunpla out of ir, but BD barely had any fights worth talking about.

  5. Even it's quite a weak sequel, I can't really protest because it's free. I hope the gunpla in the new series will be good like the No Name and 00 Sky.

    1. Wut? The No Name was a terrible kit. The only correct colour used was the white and it can hardly move. Doesn't even have its beam sabers. Took hours of painting just to make it look good in a static pose.

    2. Well I do agree with your points because it's true but design-wise, it's a cool gundam. Even in its OOB form is enough for me. I dunno it's just unique for me.

  6. Can't you people just stop complaining, keep this up and the producer might just not make anything good from this point on! Just be glad that they are making some new gundam anime at this point.

    1. So we should just accept and consume whatever comes our way? That's how mediocrity pervades franchises and is a horrible way of thinking.

    2. It's that kind of thinking that gave us New Gundam Breaker.

    3. Tbh they need to stop with the build series. It has reached the saturation point. I love Build Fighters and BF try, but after that, the quality just went downhill, the story sucks and most of the kits were uninspiring kitbashed gunpla.

  7. Can't understand why they would do Divers S2 when what people want is a sequel to Build Fighters with adult Sei, Meijin Kawaguchi and the Try gang in the World Tournament.

  8. I don't understand how one of the worst Gundam series ever made, with the worst story and its structure, the worst character design and development, the worst music, and many more is getting 2nd season. Yeah, there were couple great Gunpla out of it, but overall it was one, enormous trainwreck of a show. Divers had the worst ratings in all Gundam history, the worst views/viewing time in all Gundam history, and huge majority of people disliked it.

What I hear mostly when someone mentions wanting a Build Fighters 3rd season, is that they want is a show with adult characters from 1st and 2nd season, trying to win World Cup, or something similar to it. They want pumping up music, like the one in both GBF. They want a mix between 1vs1 and 3vs3 fights, maybe battle royale. They want good story, not random one like Divers had. However, if they are going to make another season for Divers, I do wish them to make a good one, a better one, one that will surpass Divers 100 fold. Maybe they've learned, maybe not. We will find out.

  11. A lot of people still don't seem to realize how Bamco operates when it comes to Gundam despite the series being 40 years old.

The series' primary objective has always been to sell toys to children not tell a war drama regardless of what Tomino wanted/intended.

We keep getting new Build series because regardless of the show's quality they sell a lot of toys. Which is all Bamco cares about.

If you want a serious Gundam story watch Narrative and other OVAs like HF, that's the stuff being made for older fans.

  12. I personally don't mind it but with the way they have Gundams fight and often have Superrobot Tech... They should attempt another series taking place in the Future Colony(G Gundam) Timeline.

  13. For the love of god just make a build fighter sequel, build fighter try was basically a tease for the world tournament and somehow they just ignored that and went with kids doing pointless thing in VR...
