The Gundam Dryon III first appeared in the Japanese arcade game Mobile Suit Gundam: Try Age before making its way into the GunPla scene as a customized variation of the Gundam Tryon III through Hobby Hobby Imaging Builders. It later gained wider recognition in Gundam Build Fighters Battlogue, where it was built and piloted by Minato Sakai

This kit is based on the original HGBF 1/144 Gundam Tryon III, featuring the same molds cast in striking black plastic with gold foil stickers that enhance its regal appearance. The Gundam Dryon III retains all of the original kit's transformation and combination gimmicks, allowing builders to recreate its unique assembly process.

The mobile suit is formed from three separate components. Riku Dryon serves as the core unit and features the iconic lion head mounted on its chest. Umi Dryon functions as the flight unit and transforms into the shoulder armor when combined. Completing the trio is Sora Dryon, a falcon-themed unit that transforms into the mobile suit's leg sections.

For weaponry, the Gundam Dryon III is equipped with the Kōkoku no Chohoken, a massive black sword that gives the mobile suit a powerful close-combat option while maintaining its distinctive super robot-inspired style.

This reissue celebrates the popularity of the Gundam Build series and gives fans another chance to add one of Minato Sakai's most memorable custom GunPla creations to their collections.
