Gundam Blog 11: Let's Revisit this Fan-Made Crossbone Gundam Opening Sequence

Maybe one day we'll get an actual anime adaptation of Crossbone Gundam!

It's been 10 years since we first saw this amazing fan-made animated opening sequence for Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam. The video was originally uploaded by 厨房ちゃうよ aka @tyuuboutyauyo from X.com.

The details in the video description say that the animator created 2,858 digitally drawn frames using GIMP and PaintTool SAI, using AviUtl as editing software, using references from the Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam manga series, hence the accuracy of the characters and details from the Mobile Suits.

Here's a Youtube video uploaded by user wipp er 10 years ago.

It took the animator about two years to complete the fan project. The animator made the finished project even more compelling by using the theme song “INSANITY” from the Muv-Luv Alternative Total Eclipse OP.

Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam is a manga by Yuuichi Hasegawa based on notes and information by Yoshiyuki Tomino. The manga was published by Shonen Magazine, a monthly shōnen manga magazine in Japan published by Kadokawa Shoten in 1994. The story takes place in UC 0133, ten years after the events of Mobile Suit Gundam F91.
