Premium Bandai is reissuing the HGUC 1/144 GM Kai Standard Color & Ball Modified Type, a two-kit release featuring a Federation mobile suit and its modified Ball counterpart based on Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: STARDUST MEMORY.
The set pairs the RGM-79N GM Kai with the RB-79 Ball Modified Type, recreating two Federation units associated with the Stardust Memory series.
The GM Kai was developed as a high-performance Federation mobile suit after the One Year War. In Stardust Memory, GM Kais serve with the Earth Federation's Albion crew and other Federation forces during the conflict surrounding Operation Stardust.
The standard-color version included in this release comes with its characteristic Federation weapons, including a 90mm machine gun, hyper bazooka, shield, and beam saber. Six interchangeable wrist parts are also included, allowing the GM Kai to be displayed in a variety of weapon-holding and posing configurations.
The second kit in the release is the Ball Modified Type, which features several newly molded parts that distinguish it from the standard RB-79 Ball.
The modified Ball features newly designed sub-arms and attitude-control thrusters, along with additional details based on its appearance in Stardust Memory. A dedicated display stand is included for the Ball, allowing its unusual configuration to be displayed in space-fighting poses.
The Ball Modified Type is particularly notable for its additional equipment compared with the standard Ball. In Stardust Memory, modified Ball units appear as part of the Federation forces operating during the later stages of the conflict, including battles connected to Operation Stardust.
This Premium Bandai release offers a convenient way to build both the GM Kai Standard Color and Ball Modified Type together, with the two kits representing Federation mobile suit and support units featured in the same Universal Century conflict.
