Bandai introduces an adorable new collectible series with the reveal of Gundam Cross, a stylized toy line that pairs Gundam pilots with their mobile suit counterparts in a super cute chibi form. The biggest twist is that the figures are fully mix-and-match compatible that let fans swap parts around to create hilarious combinations like a Gundam-headed pilot or a pilot riding around with a tiny mobile suit body.
The first lineup already brings together three legendary pairs from across the Gundam franchise. Fans can look forward to the RX-78-2 Gundam with Amuro Ray, Freedom Gundam with Kira Yamato, and Wing Gundam with Heero Yuy. Each set captures the personalities of both the pilots and their machines while leaning heavily into a playful bubble-head style that makes the entire lineup incredibly charming.
The mobile suit figures stand at approximately 120 mm tall, while the pilot figures measure around 90 mm, giving both characters enough size and detail to really stand out on display. Combined with the interchangeable gimmick, Gundam Cross already feels like one of Bandai’s most fun and lighthearted Gundam toy ideas in years.
The first wave of Gundam Cross figures is scheduled for release in September 2026 for 3,300 yen each.
