The official website for Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe has confirmed a surprising and memorable musical choice for the film’s ending theme. The second installment in the Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway film trilogy will close with Sweet Child o' Mine, the legendary 1988 track by Guns N' Roses.

Originally released in 1988, Sweet Child o' Mine is one of the most iconic rock songs of all time and a defining track of Guns N' Roses’ breakthrough album Appetite for Destruction. Instantly recognizable for its opening guitar riff and emotionally charged vocals, the song blends vulnerability with raw power, capturing themes of love, longing, and nostalgia. Its use as the ending theme for Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe adds a striking contrast to the film’s intense political drama and inner conflict, leaving a lasting emotional resonance as the credits roll.

The film officially premiered in Japan this Friday, opening in 365 theaters nationwide. Originally slated for a 2025 release, the project experienced a delay before finally reaching the big screen.

The Sorcery of Nymph Circe pushes the story further into emotional and ideological tension. Hathaway Noa remains torn between his lingering feelings for Gigi Andalucia and his role within the anti-Earth Federation organization MAFTY. At the same time, Kenneth Sleg prepares to intensify his crackdown on MAFTY, while Gigi’s presence continues to influence both men in ways that may permanently reshape their paths.

Set against a backdrop of large-scale conflict and political intrigue, the film deepens its focus on character-driven drama while maintaining the high-stakes atmosphere expected of the Universal Century timeline. The movie is now playing in Japanese theaters, with a North American release date yet to be announced.
