Mobile Suit Gundam: GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- "Theatrical Edit"

At the Gundam Conference Winter 2024, a surprise announcement unveiled an exciting new addition to the Gundam universe: Mobile Suit Gundam: GQuuuuuuX (pronounced GQuacks). Fans can look forward to a special preview on January 17, 2025, when 373 theaters across Japan will screen an exclusive, edited version of the initial episodes from the upcoming TV anime series. The full series is scheduled for release later in 2025.

The production team for this new title boasts an impressive lineup, including key creators from Neon Genesis Evangelion. Hideaki Anno takes the helm as the scriptwriter, Ikuto Yamashita leads the mechanical design, and Kazuya Tsurumaki serves as the director.

A limited-edition movie ticket card featuring the iconic main mobile suit of the series, GQuuuuuuX, will be available, making it a must-have collectible for fans. Movie Ticket Cards will be on sale from Friday, December 13th, nationwide, in Japan.

In addition, to celebrate the anime's theatrical release, a limited-time official shop will open at Akihabara Atre starting Friday, January 24th! The shop will feature exclusive merchandise and engaging mini-games, giving visitors the chance to win special prizes.

Synopsis:

Amate Yuzuriha, a high school student living a quiet life in a space colony orbiting the stars, finds her world upended when she encounters Nyaan, a war refugee. This fateful meeting draws her into the underground world of Clan Battle, an intense and illegal mobile suit dueling sport.

Taking on the alias "Machu," Amate pilots the formidable GQuuuuuuX in relentless battles, day after day. Her life takes another dramatic turn when she crosses paths with an unidentified Gundam mobile suit, pursued by both the space force and local authorities. Its pilot, a mysterious boy named Shuji, carries with him the promise of transformation.

As their destinies intertwine, Amate, Shuji, and the enigmatic Gundam stand at the threshold of a revolution that will reshape their world forever.
