Heine Westenfluss is a notable character introduced in the anime "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny." An optimistic yet realistic soldier, Heine didn't stand much on ceremony and was quite talkative, making earnest attempts to raise the morale of his fellow pilots. Despite seeing himself as an elite, he was respected by both superiors and subordinates as a capable pilot and officer.

Heine Westenfluss was voiced by Takanori Nishikawa, also known by his stage name T.M.Revolution. Nishikawa is a popular Japanese musician and singer, and he contributed to the anime not only as a voice actor but also by performing some of the theme songs for the Gundam SEED title series.

Heine's pride in his skills was evident when he continued to assault the Freedom Gundam despite his GOUF Ignited being damaged, ultimately leading to his death. Transferred to the Minerva as part of Athrun Zala's squad, Heine was treated almost as a superior by his peers, including Athrun himself. His death left Athrun and the Minerva crew saddened, showing how much they cared for and respected him. Athrun even harbored a near-grudge against Kira, whom he blamed indirectly for Heine's death, although Stella was directly responsible.

Heine's Destiny Gundam

ZAFT had plans to create a new special forces unit called the Concluders, consisting of multiple ace pilots using Destiny Gundams. Heine, a member of the special forces FAITH, was selected as one of these ace pilots. A specially adjusted Destiny Gundam with an orange-based color palette matching his personal colors was prepared for him. However, due to his untimely death, his Destiny Gundam was never deployed.

Regardless of his untimely demise, Bandai Spirits has been releasing the Heine Westenfluss orange-colored Destiny Gundam for a limited time. This special edition Destiny Gundam is available in various GunPla series, including HG, HGCE, MG, and RG, as well as in the high-quality Metal Build figure series, all produced in limited quantity.

The Gundam Base Japan has also announced that another MG 1/100 Destiny Gundam Heine's custom will be released on July 27th, 2024.
