The Hakata Gion Yamakasa, held from July 1st to July 15th in Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture, commemorates the 45th anniversary of the legendary Gundam series in spectacular fashion. This year's event will feature a one-of-a-kind Gundam Yamakasa, which will captivate both series fans and festival attendees.
The Gundam Yamakasa will take place in the Hakata Gion Yamakasa, which is a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage site and one of Japan's three major Gion festivals. This particular Yamakasa was inspired by the life-sized Nu Gundam monument at LaLaport Fukuoka, as well as scenes from "Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack." It will function as the "Running Decorative Yamakasa" for the Hachiban Yamakasa Kamikawabata Dori.
From July 1st until July 14th, the Gundam Yamakasa will be on exhibit at the Kamikawabata Shopping Arcade in Hakata. The primary event, the Oi Yamakasa Narashi rehearsal, will be held on July 12th, followed by the Oi Yamakasa running through Hakata's streets on July 15th. After the march, the Yamakasa will be displayed in Kawabata Zenzai Square.

Collaboration with Kamikawabata Shopping Arcade
Several cooperative events have been planned to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Kamikawabata Shopping Arcade's "Running Decorative Yamakasa." These include selling Meigetsudo Kawabata Zenzai cooperation products and displaying special flags in the retail arcade.
Gundam 45th Anniversary Summer Festival Garapon
Alongside the Yamakasa, Gundam Park Fukuoka at LaLaport Fukuoka will host the "Summer Gundam 45th Anniversary Festival Garapon" from July 1st to September 1st. Visitors can participate in a Garapon lottery challenge to win luxurious prizes such as the grand prize "Hachiban Yamakasa Kamikawabata Street Send-off 'Gundam Hakata Jinraiden' Folding Fan" and "RG 1/144 RX-93ff Nu Gundam."
