YG-111 Gundam G-Self

The Gundam Reconguista in G anime series' main mobile suit is the YG-111 Gundam G-Self. It was first piloted by Raraiya Akuparl and Aida Surugan, then Bellri Zenam took over as the principal pilot.



Gundam G-Self is a prototype mobile suit that employs the Photon Frame. Photon Batteries are responsible for the glowing lights all over its body. When necessary, the G-Self can also expel extra Photon energy. It can fly/hover for 45 seconds within the Earth's atmosphere without any backpacks.

It also has variety of variations where its main body utilizes different backpack equipment including the following:

ASSAULT PACK

Ameria created the Assault Pack to carry out long-distance opening strikes on targets with a single mobile suit. To improve Gundam G-Self's long-range shooting, which traditionally relied on forecasting target behavior, the Assault Pack also employs essential technologies such as Photon Eye AI and powerful image processing to greatly improve the accuracy of the optical sights. The Assault Pack is quite heavy due to the wide assortment of weaponry, so a big booster was installed to provide higher thrust.

ATMOSPHERIC PACK

When the G-Self is outfitted with the atmospheric pack, it can fly in the atmosphere. The atmospheric pack features two moveable main wings, two pairs of built-in high-output thrusters, and eight pairs of sub-thrusters that are linked to substantially improve air mobility.

SPACE PACK

The Space Pack are basic boosters built by the Amerian Army to augment the G-Self's mobility in space.

REFLECTOR PACK

The Reflector Pack is intended for use by the G-Self to block and absorb enemy beam shots, improve the G-Self's beam rifle shots, and generate energy wings when the reflector's gauge is fully charged. An external reflector controller is mounted on the G-Self in order to deploy or deactivate the reflector pack and control it.

PERFECT PACK

Happa, a Megafauna mechanic, created the Perfect Pack within the Crescent Ship on its trip back to the Earth Sphere from Venus Globe. The Perfect Pack is officially created by Venus Globe because it was built with the help of the accompanying Venus Globe engineers and uses Venus Globe components. The Perfect Pack is the sole backpack designed particularly for the G-Self, and it has all of the capabilities of the G-Self's prior backpacks.

HIGH TORQUE PACK

The High Torque Pack provided defensive armor for the whole body of the Gundam G-Self. The torque of the pack could be adjusted to increase its power output. The suit could run at great speeds or hover thanks to a massive booster installed on the back. The suit's weaponry were limited to beam sabers and vulcan cannons in this version. Kerbes Yoh, a Capital Guard officer who was disgruntled with the Capital Army's methods, gave the High Torque Pack to the Amerian Forces ship Megafauna in RC 1014.

TRICKY PACK

The Tricky Pack is a backpack designed for G-series mobile suits in Ameria. It was created to investigate successful battlefield disturbance attacks. When employed correctly, I-Field can affect numerous foes and confound mobile suits' electrical equipment.

GunPla Entries

During the anime's run, like the other Gundam anime, Bandai, published a few HG kits for the G-self alone, as well as a few versions sold exclusively as Premium Bandai limited.

The regular retail released lineup include the HG 1/144 Gundam G-Self, which include the Athmospheric Pack. A sold separately HG 1/144 Space Pack was also announced, followed by the HG 1/144 Gundam G-Self with full Assault Pack, and HG 1/144 Gundam G-Self Perfect Pack.

Premium Bandai carried the HG 1/144 Gundam G-Self Reflector Pack, which has not been reissued since its initial release in 2015.

In addition, on October 2nd, 2017, the official Japanese website of Gundam.info revealed that the G-Self had won an online census in which fans voted for a future potential entry in the Master Grade Ver. Ka GunPla series, but since then, there has been no further word from Bandai about any Master Grade G-Self.

The G-Self is infamous for not having its MG iteration potentially created after winning first place in the "Potential Gunpla Treatment"-based censuses.
