The Gundam Base Japan has stated that the Real Grade 1/144 Freedom Gundam Ver. GCP (Gundam China Project) will be available beginning December 2nd, 2023. The kit will be sold for 3,850 Yen at all Gundam Base Stores in Japan.

On July 2nd, 2022, the kit became exclusive at The Gundam Base Shanghai for 299 Yuan (about $44 USD) to assist commemorate the unveiling of the 1/1 scale Freedom Gundam Ver. GCP, which is now built in front of the Mitsui Shopping Park's LaLaport in the Pudong New Area. It was then made available for a limited time through Gundam Base Japan and the United States.

Significant mold revisions and design upgrades were done to the original RG 1/144 Freedom Gundam kit, which was initially launched in 2011. These modifications were designed to better resemble the original 1/1 Freedom Gundam statue, which improved the proportions and design of its head, torso, legs, feet, and other details! It even incorporates a support stand linked to its wings to sustain its weight when upright.
