Plex's RX-78-2 Gundam Bamboo Model Gets a 2nd and 3rd Batch Release due to Its Popularity

The RX-78-2 Gundam from the 1979 Mobile Suit Gundam is now available in ''Bamboo Art wa-gu-mi,'' an ultra-precise craft puzzle fashioned from ecologically friendly bamboo material.



Officially distributed by Azone, this fantastic Gundam display piece with a total height of about 270mm (about 10.6 inches) is created by assembling 421 accurately laser-cut parts onto a 2mm-thick Japanese-style bamboo board with a gorgeous grain.

It is a product that can be readily built without the use of tools or adhesives, and it may also be used as a soothing interior display item.

The wooden model was originally announced in October 2023, with a November 2023 release date. Due to its popularity, the official Plex store has chosen to issue a second and third batch of the one-of-a-kind item via Premium Bandai, with shipment dates of January and February 2024, respectively, at a price of 10,000 Yen (tax included).
