Gundam x SCUDERIA ALPHATAURI - A Formula 1 Collaboration

In the Formula 1 Las Grand Prix, Gundam teams up with the Italian Formula One racing team and constructor, SCUDERIA ALPHATAURI! The RX-78-2 Gundam from the original 1979 Mobile Suit Gundam to the current Gundam Aerial from the 2022 Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury anime series will be on the track next weekend, on November 16th to 18th 2023, to assist driver Yuki Tsunoda.

The cooperation also honors the occasion by providing driver Yuki with an Amuro Ray-inspired racing suit, complete with helmet. Keep a watch out for them as they race down the track and stop by their Gundam Pop-up shops to visit and buy limited edition GunPla kits and commemorate this once-in-a-lifetime event!

In a video, Yuki Tsunoda invites both Gundam and racing lovers to this special event.

Scuderia AlphaTauri is thrilled to announce a special one-time event cooperation with Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. for the 2018 Las Vegas Grand Prix, bringing the GUNDAM series to the Formula 1® grid. Yuki Tsunoda and Daniel Ricciardo will be displaying Gundam decals of the RX-78-2 GUNDAM and XVX-016 GUNDAM Aerial on the headrests of the AT04 as they compete for points around the Las Vegas Strip Circuit TM throughout the week.

Beyond standard Formula 1® sponsorships, the partnership with Bandai Namco's GUNDAM brand includes innovative activations at the Las Vegas Grand Prix that are sure to be unforgettable for fans. Fans will be able to see nearly ten-foot tall GUNDAM statues on display around the team's facilities, as well as a promotional movie featuring driver Yuki Tsunoda in an iconic GUNDAM-inspired racing costume, in addition to the decals on the racing vehicles. In addition, a one-of-a-kind, custom-designed Perfect-Grade Unleashed model of the Mobile Suit RX-78-2 GUNDAM with exclusive Scuderia AlphaTauri decals and colors (for exhibition only) commemorates the collaboration. All new GUNDAM features for the Las Vegas event have also been created, including RX-78-2 and Yuki Tsunoda artwork inspired by Scuderia AlphaTauri.

"GUNDAM, one of the world's longest running Sci-Fi franchises, has always been able to connect with fans all over the world with its featured themes of heroism, overcoming adversity, and mirroring in fiction the real-life challenges F1 drivers face each and every race," said Karim Farghaly, Senior Vice President of Corporate Development at Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc.
"We partnered with Scuderia AlphaTauri because of their vision and cooperation to help bring GUNDAM to the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix, in a way that will be memorable and meaningful to both F1 fans and GUNDAM fans alike."
Started in 1979, the GUNDAM franchise has concentrated around outstanding pilots flying technologically superior machines called mobile suits, echoing the Bandai Namco GUNDAM crew's technological vision in Formula 1® racing.

Model kits, toys and memorabilia, anime series, feature-length films, and video games are all part of the GUNDAM franchise.
