Bandai Spirits continues the Titanium Finish GunPla lineup with the Master Grade RX-78-2 Gundam Ver. 3.0! The kit is finished with metallic colors for its blue and red exterior parts, and titanium finishing for its white armor parts, while the yellow parts are treated with matte gold finish.

The kit was  sold as limited time in both Gundam Base Tokyo and Fukuoka locations back in August 2021.

Premium Bandai USA reissues the kit to celebrate the launch of the GUNDAM Fan e-Festival 2023, and the Gundam Base Mobile tour in the United States.

The titular mobile suit of the Mobile Suit Gundam television series is the RX-78-2 Gundam. It was built in secrecy on Side 7 as part of the RX-78 Gundam series. During the One Year War against the Principality of Zeon, the Gundam would tip the scales in favor of the Earth Federation. Amuro Ray was the primary pilot.

For its time, the Gundam was quite advanced. Built from lightweight Luna Titanium Alloy, its frame was both lighter and sturdier than Zeon's mass-produced mobile suits, able to withstand machine gun fire from an MS-06 Zaku II with little to no damage. Its offensive power was far superior to that of the Zakus. Most engagements would be fought with the Gundam's beam rifle, making it the first mobile suit with firepower comparable to a battleship's beam cannons.

It also used two beam sabers, which were very hot plasma blades that could easily cut through any metal. Those beam sabers may be stretched into a spear-like beam javelin to stab an attacker from a greater distance.
