The Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny Master Grade lineup expands once again with another high-powered addition—the MG 1/100 Blaze Zaku Phantom (Rey Za Burrel Custom)! Faithfully recreated in white and purple plastic, this version of the ZGMF-1001 Zaku Phantom brings Rey’s custom colors to life, staying true to its anime appearance.

Much like previous MG Blaze Zaku Phantom kits, this release shares the same high-quality molds and engineering, ensuring a sturdy build and dynamic articulation. However, this version stands out with an exclusive Cattus 500mm recoilless rifle—a powerful bazooka-style weapon designed to bring down even the toughest enemies on the battlefield.

As an added touch, the kit includes a water slide decal sheet with ZAFT specifications, giving builders the opportunity to customize their unit with authentic markings. To support a variety of poses and weapon setups, multiple hand parts are also included, making this kit a versatile addition to any GunPla collection.

The Blaze Zaku Phantom is an enhanced version of the standard Zaku Phantom, utilizing the EX-M Blaze Wizard System on its back. This system grants the mobile suit enhanced mobility in both space and terrestrial operations, thanks to its additional high-output thrusters.

Beyond speed, the Blaze Wizard also amps up firepower with twin AGM138 "Firebee" guided missile launchers, allowing it to rain destruction on enemy units from a distance. This combination of speed and firepower made it a staple of ZAFT’s Second Alliance-PLANT War forces.

As an elite ZAFT Red pilot, Rey Za Burrel was a core member of the Minerva's mobile suit team. During the attack on Armory One, Rey found himself in combat against Neo Roanoke's TS-MA4F Exus, leading to several intense aerial battles. Though neither pilot gained the upper hand in their encounters, Rey proved his skills as a formidable mobile suit ace.

When war officially broke out, Rey's Blaze Zaku Phantom became a key defensive unit for the Minerva, often functioning as a stationary turret against attacking Earth Alliance and Orb forces. However, the unit eventually sustained critical damage during the battle near Crete, forcing Rey to abandon it and transition to the ZGMF-X666S Legend Gundam, one of ZAFT's most powerful Gundams.

  1. Man, I am just never going to have a Zaku wielding the Beam Machine Gun. That Cattus Bazooka looks great! Time to add another Zaku to the pile.

    1. It was also going to be a PB kit, stop whining about the inevitable

    2. Stop whining about people being dissatisfied. Bandai is a company that sells a good and customers are allowed to be disappointed and dissatisfied.

  3. The way these Seed Zaku MG’s don’t have the outer piece of the head snout fully molded is hilarious, this is a modern MG and they pull a cheap ugly looking trick they use on SDs.

    1. The design of The SEED Zaku does have it open unlike the UC one, so in this case it's not due to laziness or cost cutting. The show and various merchandise consistently have the snout like that.

This should be a normal release!
