Bandai Spirits has announced the release of the new Wing Gundam Zero EW in Version Ka form! This kit will be packed with amazing detailing and of course, decals. Specially designed by Katoki Hajime himself, the kit will offer variety of new molded parts compare to its previous MG version that was released back in 2004.
This kit offers numerous gimmicks including bird mode transformation, holstering of buster rifles on the wing binders, new panel line detailing and extended articulation!
This production was based from the Gundam Wing Glory of Losers' Wing Gundam Zero EW NEO BIRD MODE. - A new variant of the WZC that features its predecessor's gimmicks.
Well I'm happy, I've been waiting for a 2.0 to fix the wings and lack of pegs in the hand but this will suffice

DileuEvery review coming out undoubtedly proves that this is a completely new kit, with completely new everything. Really wouldn't have made sense for this to be a rehash with all the new features it has.

Why complain? So what if they don’t get to the f-self yet, they do it, this is a much needed update for the wing zero custom ew and frankly I think it’s awesome that that they’re doing this it’s the second wing ver ka kit compared to the ten or so unicorn gundam models. As the mobile suit that introduced the U.S to mobile suit gundam it’s surprisingly under appreciated especially when it comes to the mg line

ReplyDileuI feel betrayed with that G-Self won the poll for the next MG Ver.Ka back in 2017. At least Wing Zero Custom finally getting an update, hopefully it wasn't just updating the old mold like MG Ex-S Gundam/S Gundam Ver. 1.5 or is it just another form of Ver. 1.5? It seems like it though.

ReplyDileuMight be into this if it added some additional equipment, like say an MG version of the Wing Gundam Snow White, but as is I'm not super excited about Katoki just doing another Endless Waltz Wing Zero. Like there's not going to be big proportion or style changes like the Seed 2.0 MG models, or heck, the Hi-res Wing Zero, right? The lineart looks like the same old Wing Zero with just some more detailing.

DileuIght, know its not popular but this needed to happen. The original MG is old as sin. The HiRM rubs people the wrong way cause the frame is a figure along with the different look. The RG might be too small and the 1/60 is the worst. Translated text at the bottom confirms it'll have improved joints, improved wings (look at line art) and for first time store the buster rifle on the kit itself.

If it is indeed like an MG 2.0, then great, maybe it will be good. However, I read that line to mean it will be more like the recent MG Ex-s 1.5. The line art they've shown also looks like a modified version of the original MG more than an entirely new mold.

ReplyDileuMy only question is where was all this enthusiasm for the G-Self back when Reconguista In G was released in 2014? Like I know the show was mildly a commercial success but I distinctly recall general lack of interest and even some repulsion at the series' MS designs. Am I off base here?

ReplyDileuThe original Master Grade is 16 years old. The HIRM is basically a unique design of itself and the GFFMC is over half a grand. The old Master Grade was very dated next to the other EW kits of the same scale, it needed a new one badly.

When I first saw this announcement, I was laughing, but the more I think about it, the more it makes total sense. This is the avenue in which they will give us a proper Master Grade Glory of the Losers or Frozen Teardrop P-Bandai version.

Transforms into Neo Bird Mode, so it comes with the shield. The chest is using the GOL design.
DileuThe blurb at the bottom states that the ability to store the Buster Rifles under the wings and the Neo Bird mode transformation gimmicks are included with this release. So the shield is presumably part of the base kit. However, despite already being a P-Bandai release a few years ago, I assume the Zwergs will still be withheld for another later P-Bandai release as they continue to work their way through the other Glory of the Losers armaments. This update could potentially leading to a ton of kits for them, P-Bandai or otherwise: a new Wing Zero Zwerg Armament, a Tallgeese Flugel, an updated Wing Gundam, maybe a Wing Gundam Zwerg Armament, or even a couple of Snow White Preludes or actual Snow Whites.
DileuOnly thing I'm curious about now is whether we'll see the Zero System gimmick implemented. Based on the new art here, almost every (visible) panel that should open based on the GFFMC version is included, except for the ones on the wings.
I mean, if the proportions of the hands are similar, they could probably just reissue the Drei Zwerg from the old kit and make a color variant of the new kit that includes them as well, like they would have for the other versions of Wing Zero EW which had the Drei Zwerg available.
DileuAlso, yes, the Zero System gimmick would probably be one of the key things of this kit. Katoki likes his armor shifting gimmicks, what with the Nu Gundam Ver.Ka and Unicorn Gundam period...
