P-Bandai: HG 1/144 Zaku Desert Type [Mobile Suit Gundam THE ORIGIN MSD]
Release Date: May 2020
Price: 2,420 Yen

The Mobile Suit Gundam THE ORIGIN MSD line continues to expand with amazing releases. This time, they will be adding the Zaku Desert Type with bunch of newly molded parts, starting from its head antenna to its leg armor parts.

The kit is also provided with excellent color separation, defining more detail of the Zaku Desert Type. An ORIGIN kit will not be completed without the marking seals that will surely add more impact when finishing the model.

Buy P-Bandai kits at Omocha Japan.

The Zaku Desert Type is equipped with a Zaku machine gun, a 3-tube Missile Launcher installed on its left arm, a heat hawk, a newly designed set of shoulder armor and shoulder shield, and a P-3 2-tube Rocket Launcher that can be installed optionally on its right skirt armor.

  1. Battle Operation 2 is literally the only reason I recognize/know what this thing is

    1. Actually the one in Unicorn is 'MS-06D Desert Zaku'. Yes, same kind of naming, but the design is different and the one in Unicorn is the improved version over the one in here.

    2. Seeing as that did appear in the anime, I'm crossing my fingers for a regular release of it, sort of like what they did with the Efreet. With the jet skis of course, those are too funny to pass up. Add in a Rommel custom, Desert Gelgoog, HG Dwadge and Rommel custom Dwadge.

Who am I kidding, these will all be P-bandai.

    3. @ Death Usagi

Actually this version of the desert zaku was also in Gundam Unicorn. It was with the Zaku Tank trying to pull the Garencieres out of the sand.

  2. Aww, it's my old buddy! I used to use this MS all the time when i started playing GBO2 back in January. He doesn't get much use nowadays.
Kinda annoyed this is an Origin version where they always screw with classic designs...
I'll probably get him anyway. :P

  3. It's not screwing with the old design for once (hate how they treated the gm guard custom though).

This here is the Zaku desert type not the desert Zaku, it suprisingly makes a big difference

  4. I see no changes on the spike shoulder, unless those mid-section lines are carved into the piece.

  5. Wow, this looks fantastic! Is that a short range variant of the standard Zaku machine gun? I've never seen one like that before.
