P-Bandai: MG 1/100 Re-GZ Custom [REISSUE]
Release Date: July 2026
Price: 6,600 Yen

INITIAL RELEASE
Release Date: May 2019
Price: 5,940 Yen

The Re-GZ Custom from Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack MSV makes its move into the Master Grade lineup, bringing a sharper, more aggressive take on the classic Re-GZ.

Designed by Mika Akitaka, this upgraded unit stands out right away with its redesigned silhouette. The kit builds on the original MG Re-GZ, but introduces newly molded parts across the head, chest, shoulders, waist, and legs to match its MSV design. The head now leans closer to a Gundam-type look with a V-fin, while the chest and shoulder ducts are expanded and more defined through clean part separation.

The arms take cues from the Zeta Gundam, complete with a built-in grenade launcher that features a sliding and opening gimmick. Around the waist, new duct details and sharper beam gun units add to the upgraded look.

Articulation has also been improved. Updated shoulder joints allow for smoother forward and upward movement, making it easier to pull off two-handed weapon poses or wide saber swings without fighting the kit.

One of the biggest highlights is the fully realized transformation into Waverider mode. The redesigned back weapon system makes the transformation possible without parts swapping, while the nose section folds neatly onto the back in MS mode.

The Re-GZ Custom comes equipped with newly sculpted weapons, including a Beam Assault Rifle, Hyper Beam Saber, and shield. The waist-mounted beam guns can be moved forward for action poses, and a range of expressive hand parts helps bring everything together. New water-slide decals are also included to finish the look.

With its updated design, solid articulation, and full transformation, the MG Re-GZ Custom feels like a proper evolution of the original, built to match modern GunPla standards while staying true to its MSV roots.

    1. Careful, because they base it on the old MG Re-GZ model, which is in my opinion not that good.

    2. It looks like they are at least updating the shoulder joints to be better. Both the ankles and elbows could probably use a redesign, but that would make the kit even more costly. I like the design enough that I'll be getting it, but you probably still cant do that many dynamic poses with the way the legs are.

  2. basically ReGz 2.0 and this another P-bandai with entirely brand new molds smh

  3. I hope this means the innerframe is improved or a different one is used. 2001 was a long time ago and the original doesn't hold up at all.

    1. The original MG Re-Gz didn't have any torso articulation, and the arm joints could not move that well. So it's kinda like the MG Dwadge where they take a old kit, and fix the problems while adding more articulation

    2. Where they should've made this into a regular release instead for both

    3. @MSVF That makes a lot of sense, thanks for the opinion, I'd planned on buying this anyway because this is an awesome MS.

    1. The original re-gz custom has always had the AK. It's in the original lineart, but a lot of people can easily miss it.

  7. This certainly was an awesome surprise from bandai cause the re-gz custom is literally what the re-gz should of always been, plus more!

  11. The color scheme is horrible, this desperately needs to be painted.

  12. Using a different color for the backpack maybe wasn't the best design choice, stands out a little too much for me. That said I love Zeta-types and will pick that up and either paint the dark blue on the suit purple or change the color on the backpack to not contrast as much.
