So, like, at what point should I just quit this hobby?
It has become far too expensive to try to keep up with all these P-Bandai exclusives. If we wait a moment too long to buy, we miss the pre-order window, and then we're faced with either absurdly inflated prices set by opportunist middleman vendors (read: gougers) or okayish eBay (or whatever) prices shackled to astronomical shipping rates. I payed over $70 with S/H for my HGUC Zeta Plus C1 because I didn't bite at the moment for pre-order --and that was the cheapest I could find! Yes, I know there are relatively inexpensive vendors with reasonable shipping rates like Gentei Kits and Nippon-Yasan, but like I said, I just can't afford to shell out for a pre-order or two every single month. My income just isn't disposable like that. Before this P-Bandai racket got rolling, I felt confident that if money was tight in a given moment, I could easily push a purchase off until I felt a little more financially secure. That's not a thing anymore.
You know, what really stings is that all these kits that I've been anticipating for *years* are finally getting released...as goddamn P-Bandai. How can I quit now when at long last I can have the TR-6 Woundwort, Efreet Kai, an updated Gouf Flight Type, or now the flappin' Gundam Pixie to proudly collect dust on my shelves? What childhood favorite is next? And what about the venerable White Dingoes GM Sniper II, Ball K-Type, GM Kai Space/Ball C-Type, original Stark Jegan, proper Zssa, or literally most of the Crossbone line? Gotta hang tight for a reissue if you missed the first bus. After that, it's the same conundrum with middlemen.
Anyway. I know that I'm being a little more than dramatic here, and that I'm really just screaming into the void. But. This sucks.
Also, inb4 “no one's forcing you to buy anything.” Like, bruh. I know. I *want* to buy these things because I *like* to buy these things.
I couldn't get Pale Rider... now I can't get Pixie too. I've got nothing against P-Bandai because I do own some P-Bandai kits but it all depends on availability on whether the middle man seller here has it and that sucks.
Well... at least Bandai managed to surprise me by making the original Pixie P-Bandai, thought for sure the first P-Bandai Pixie was going to be the Missing Link version
Just like the woundwort, the only possibility that this would have a retail release is to wait for the build divers version, which is might be impossible. (or not, maybe)
why???
ReplyDeleteWhy is this another P-Bandai kit!?
ReplyDeleteI miss HG in the old days, where we can get retail release gunpla from less unknown spin-off like Hazel, Gundam 7th, and GM Striker.
ReplyDeleteWhat is this Gundam? The beam saber part looks cool. Is this a new part?
ReplyDelete*facepalms*
ReplyDeletethats a nice colour scheme, bandai has caught my attention on this guy.....
ReplyDeleteI'm perfectly fine with this as long as at least one release is retail...
ReplyDeleteReally? P-bandai?
ReplyDeleteI want those beam sabers but I don't really like the Pixie
ReplyDeleteInsert generic profanity here.
ReplyDeleteNice effect parts. That shoulder sticker though ...
ReplyDeleteP-Bandai, of course. Game designs seem to be stuck with limited releases.
ReplyDeleteI do like that they gave it the slash effect from the game though.

ReplyDeleteI never realized how much I wanted Uzi Beam Sabers in my life until now... and of course it's P-Bandai. Yippie. Hooray.

ReplyDeleteThe more I see these, the less I understand this hobby.
ReplyDelete... *sigh* There goes my dreams to make a Gundam Versus diorama and stop motion video.
ReplyDeletewhy do i feel it's the base frame for build diver series XD
