The spectacular winter production ''GFY Winter Illumination 2023 feat. GUNDAM SEED series'' will begin on December 1st, 2023 at the ''GUNDAM FACTORY YOKOHAMA'' (GFY), a public facility, and the home to the life-sized ''moving Gundam''.

This special production will include songs from the Gundam SEED series, such as "INVOKE" and "ignited" performed by TMRevolution and "FIND THE WAY" performed by Mika Nakashima, as well as numerous lights and lasers. It is a stunning and impactful piece of content that takes full use of.

Furthermore, the art illumination "Yorunoyo 2023" in Yokohama's central waterfront area and the "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM" x GUNDAM Café YOKOHAMA Satellite collaboration project will begin on December 1st (Friday), and a ''Rock, Paper, Scissors Showdown with a Life-Sized Moving Gundam'' will be held on December 10th.

Gundam Factory Yokohama is an amusement facility in Yokohama, Japan, located at Yamashita Pier. Its major attraction is the moving RX-78F00 Gundam, an 18-metre tall pilot-operated "mech" (a giant mechanical automaton with a human operator inside) from the Japanese cartoon series Gundam. It is the first mech of its kind.

The exhibit was supposed to open in October 2020 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Gundam franchise as well as the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, but it was delayed owing to the coronavirus pandemic. The site will be available from December 19, 2020 until March 31, 2022. However, the closing date was pushed back to March 31, 2023 owing to the Covid-19 Pandemic, and then again to March 31, 2024 due to the long-term success. At the inaugural ceremony on December 18, rock band Luna Sea played "The Beyond," the theme song for the 40th anniversary, live on television.

The exhibit has two components:

GUNDAM DOCK

The complex's main attraction is the moving Gundam robot. The RX-78F00 Gundam is the third statue built to a 1:1 scale with its anime equivalent in Japan, following the 2009 RX-78-2 and the 2017 RX-0, both of which were built in Tokyo Gundam Base.

GUNDAM LAB

The Gundam lab display includes information about the RX-78F00's construction, a virtual reality dome that depicts the interior of the Gundam's cockpit, a cafe selling Gundam items, and a GUNPLA merchandise store.
