GunPla Lineup August 2023

The August 2023 GunPla lineup maybe very quiet in regular retail releases but it sure does celebrate the Narrative Gundam's 5th anniversary with some reissues and Gundam Base limited release of the HGUC Narrative Gundam C-Packs (Awakening Ver.)!

FM 1/100 Forbidden Gundam

From the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED, the Forbidden Gundam joins the Full Mechanics 1/100 scale GunPla series to complete the Earth Alliance trio! The kit is given with high-density mechanical detailing to match the Calamity Gundam and Raider Gundam's aesthetics.

Professional GunPla modeler Naoki's latest entry to the Genius Head Line series makes it to the Premium Bandai Master Grade Gunpla lineup! The custom kit is based on the 2001 MG 1/100 Kamfer kit with great amount of newly molded parts to portray Naoki's custom "SCHWER" design.

The kit was first teased on the latest Dengeki Hobby magazine that was released on January 26th which also features more of Naoki's latest GunPla builds, along with other pro Japanese modelers.

Schwer translates as "heavy" in German.

To continue the completion of the Southern Cross Corps Zaku Surface Type team from the Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan's Island film, Premium Bandai has opened the pre-order page for the High Grade 1/144 Zaku Surface Type with Selma's customization.

The kit is featured with new equipment and set of decals that specifies Selma Livens. This Surface Type Zaku equips a Bazooka B2 Type provided with two pieces of magazines, and has a Bayonet (heat dagger) to cut through enemies' armors with ease.

Wald Ren's Zaku High Mobility (Surface Type) has joined the HG GunPla series via Premium Bandai to continue the Southern Cross Corps Zaku series. 

This Zaku features the same molds with the other Surface Type Zaku kits, added with newly molded equipment, including its main Anti-Ship Rifle Shorty, and Anti-Ship Rifle! Both rifles are also provided with extra pair of magazines that can be attached on its shield when not in use.

Premium Bandai has announced a reissue of the High Grade Universal Century GunPla Jegan Type D Escort Type in order to celebrate the airing of the Mobile Suit Gundam NT at the 28 MBS/TBS stations in Japan, nationwide.

This kit features newly molded parts for its head, chest part, and provided with a newly molded 90mm short machine gun as its unique main weapon. Its other parts are shared with the HGUC 1/144 Jegan model kit.

Premium Bandai has announced the reissue of the Narrative's Dijeh in order to celebrate the release of the Mobile Suit Gundam NT's TV edition via 28 MBS/TBS stations in Japan.

The Narrative color version of the MSK-008 Dijeh comes with more than just a recolor from its regular release counterpart! This kit comes with "Search light" shoulder piece on its left shoulder to identify the suit associated to a Commander unit. Also, an alternate beam rifle for the Dijeh (Narrative ver.) is packed in this kit, the beam rifle can be attached on its back as well for storage.

The Gundam Base Japan has announced a limited release of the HGUC 1/144 Narrative Gundam C-Packs in the Awakening Image color version with the Psycho frames molded in clear blue, which will be released on August 5th, 2023.

Narrative Gundam is the titular mobile suit appearing in Mobile Suit Gundam Narrative film, also loosely based on the novel Mobile Suit Gundam UC: Phoenix Hunting. It is piloted by Jona Basta.

The TOLRO-800 is a mobile suit used by Banagher Links for a part-time job cleaning up space debris while he was a student at the Industrial 7 space colony. Banagher also used one of it to help Audrey Burne escape from possible death. The unit appears in the photonovel and in the OVA series of Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn.

First model prototype revealed at the 61st Shizuoka Hobby Show with August 2023 release and a price tag of 2,200 Yen as Gundam Base Limited model kit.

The Gundam Base Korea turns 20 this year! To commemorate the event, Bandai Spirits has announced a limited edition Master Grade Gundam Astray in a never before seen customization, which feature a combination of Gundam Astray Blue Frame Second Revise with Destiny R silhouette. The GBK-20 Astray also include a pair of red bladed Gerbera Straight and Tiger Pierce in this exclusive release.

The kit is also completed with a sheet of exclusive decal seal to celebrate the anniversary.
