Release Date: September 2018
Price: 2,376 Yen

The HGUC Zeta Gundam [UC 0088] distinguishes itself with small but significant alterations to its 2017 "Revive" model. It has newly molded pieces for the head, chest, shoulders, shield, backpack, and outer leg sections, resulting in a more detailed and accurate portrayal. Despite these improvements, the model retains some of the color separations found in the HGUC revive version, achieving a balance of new and old.

[ACCESSORIES]
  • Beam Rifle
  • Hyper Mega Launcher
  • Shield
  • Beam Saber
The product's concept is based on the Zeta Gundam's tour through several battlefields, including the "Gryps War" and the "First Neo Zeon War." This narrative is reflected in the model's design, which depicts a Zeta Gundam that has experienced subtle but substantial changes throughout its service.

Late Specification Image: A New Look for Zeta Gundam

Body Modifications: The model includes new modeling pieces for the head, torso, limbs, legs, and flying armor. These improvements give the aircraft a more sophisticated appearance, as if it has been perfected through multiple fights.

Specific Changes:

Head/Chest: The design foreshadows the emergence of derivative models such as the Zeta Plus, with newly sculpted head, chest, and back pieces.
Arms: The shoulders and forearms have undergone detailed shape alterations that were reproduced using fresh modeling.
Feet/Waist: The hip and front armor shapes have been modified, as have the knees and outer shins of the legs.
Flying Armor/Shield: The flying armor now has little wing pieces that unfold on the sides, and the shield's upper part has been redesigned to fit the new look.

The classic body color and part color coding of the Zeta Gundam are almost entirely reproduced in molding color, providing a finish that is nearly identical to the setting image right out of the box. The color coding of the flying armor is likewise done primarily with pieces, which adds to the model's believability.

The HGUC 1/144 Zeta Gundam [UC 0088] exemplifies P-Bandai's commitment to combining traditional design with new improvements. Its complex alterations, comprehensive accessory kit, and faithful color reproduction make it a highly sought-after item among Gundam enthusiasts and model builders, capturing the Gundam universe's enduring legacy and ongoing narrative.

  1. So this is a Revive of a Revive kit? That's new.

  2. Well, 90% of the red color apps are likely still stickers, so...

  3. I'd almost be worth it if they remolded stuff so it doesn't require so many stickers.

But if I'm gonna get another 1/144 Zeta, I'll grab the RG that's actually transformable.

  4. Does it still use ugly red sticker for the flying armor?

  5. 0088? So is this meant to be the ZZ version?

  6. did we really need this, even as a pbandai the changes are so minuscule that there was no reason to make this kit at all

  7. It's not a good thing for collectors!
Why did not they do the REVIVe immediately with these details? Even the old HGUC has the Hyper Mega Launcher included ... The RG is much more convenient

  9. Sorry but they will have to do a side-by-side comparison, because it looks the same to me.

  10. Like Jesus, this is going too far. This is literally just proportion adjustments and nothing else extra. Shame on you Bandai!

  11. I just want to know if the backpack is gonna have that color separation like in the second to last image (the front and back unpainted and undecaled view) I might just order one just for that.

  12. Actually, the wings are now parts separated, hence the bump in price.

    1. Nope, you have to put black stickers on the inside of the wings instead of red ones on the edges now.

  13. Seem like we will enter all-main-character-machines-in-pbandai era

  14. It's not bad to add some parts separation and proportion adjustments. But it is still under P-Bandai, so expensive prices are expected for those outside.

  15. So Parts separation is a PBandai exclusive now? What's next? FG sold as HG with the HG quality sold as PBandai?
