The 79-year old Mobile Suit Gundam composer, Shigeru Matsuyama A.K.A. Yūshi Matsuyama passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017 due to burns that he got from a house fire that started on the same day in his two-story residence at around 4:30 PM.
Matsuyama was rescued from the fire, but was announced dead at the hospital.
His memories will forever live on through his masterpieces.
Matsuyama was the man behind the songs from the original 1979 Mobile Suit Gundam anime, and song inserts from the Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin OVA. He was also known for arranging the theme songs for Alps no Shōjo Heidi, Majokko Megu-chan, and Shin Kyojin no Hoshi.
