  1. Heh, the winner will be a member of mechapinoy or somebody related/affiliated to them. Not so much talent vs connections to be a "winner" there.

    3. Ah talaga ba sir "not so much talent"? Try to compare their work sa iba pati na rin sa gawa mo. Or try mo sali ng contest para malaman mo. Pati na rin sa nag agree. How's your build sir? And isa pa wala silang connection para manalo. Oo gumagalaw sila sa events dahil may tiwala sa kanila. Pero sa contests talo-talo ang lahat. Tigilan na ang pagiging BOY MAKTOL. Galingan na lang.

    4. 15 years na ang Mechapinoy "not much talent" pa rin? Ikaw sir ano group mo? At gano ka na katagal sa hobby? And one more question. Scale modeler ka ba o collector? Research muna, tanong tanong bago mag maktol. Hindi yung maniniwala sa sabi sabi. Nung nag start ako sa gunpla hobby yan na rin ang narinig kong chismis. At inalam ko ang totoo. Wag kasi maniwala sa chismis!

    7. ;(( now here again is an example of that hubris the PI is known for. Mr. All Caps here is saying that I'm too poor to go to a tourist trap mall known for overpricing or that I'm too bad of a modeler to win at one their locally rigged contests. If I'd posted my original comment in a filipino site, There'd be a ton of butthurt replies all saying similar things: oooh, you're too poor to be a peenoy or you suck so you're jealous of us.

Yawn. the insults are as predictable as their modeling skills. If I were a mechpinoy member I'd be crying to my parents that a bunch of words I read online hurt my feelings then bragging to my friends that I typed in all caps when I "bravely" replied to the poster using an anonymous name. :-p

      *slow clap* (h) heh heh.

    9. You did not reply on the "how's your own build" question. Is it good enough for the judges you think? And the connections you are talking about, do you have proof? See here, this is an example of a true blue Filipino attitude. No Filipino is beaten, only cheated. Bwahahahahahahahaha! And by the way, did it ever cross your mind that these people are not building to please you and you alone? Crank up your modeling skills instead of bashing MP. Your effort on replying here could have been used to perfect your sealing and sanding techniques.

Everyone knows where depression, if left unchecked, leads to.

    7. Now that, is creative. Now if you can apply that to some of the models you make you can actually have a chance at being as good as your group claims to be, heh heh.

As to the angst, heh. I made one comment....and an entire GROUP got butthurt and tried to appear intelligent. So far you're the only one with a decent response.

No need to change anything, just continue being stagnant and living off past glory and brag that they're better than the rest of the world.

Last I checked, no Pinoy's won any international tournaments. Guess nobody told the mechapinoy boys their influence doesn't extend beyond Manila. Ah well.

    10. Aw, you just validated what I said. This whole thing was simply an ego masturbation due to a severely shrivelled self esteem. Butthurt? That was the whole point why you started it and you wanted that reaction, unless you are being a hypocrite about it. Then you rub it in to edify your 'effect' on the group. Your statements are libelous to say the least. Thank goodness for the internet, a new breed trash talking folks like you who never have to worry about accountability, flourish.

    11. Heh heh, I'm an emotional sadist. I enjoy getting cocky people worked up so they actually feel they have to justify themselves to words typed on the internet.

As for libel, spare me. It's only libel if it isn't true. Judging by your group's current track record and the evidence you present via your "great works" I'd say you'vfe more than proven my point (and the point of the others who've also noticed) that you've literally made yourselves the best example of why more diversity is needed with a group.

And yes, the internet has given us many things, like a group of self-important hasbeens that think buying more kits is better than actually building them.

    13. The first matrix I designed was quite naturally perfect, it was a work of art, flawless, sublime. A triumph equaled only by its monumental failure. The inevitability of its doom is as apparent to me now as a consequence of the imperfection inherent in every human being, thus I redesigned it based on your history to more accurately reflect the varying grotesqueries of your nature. However, I was again frustrated by failure. I have since come to understand that the answer eluded me because it required a lesser mind, or perhaps a mind less bound by the parameters of perfection. Thus, the answer was stumbled upon by another, an intuitive program, initially created to investigate certain aspects of the human psyche. If I am the father of the matrix, she would undoubtedly be its mother.

And yes, it's annoying when those rich elitists always post their hauls week after week just to brag that they can buy stuff. But hey, if they want to stagnate and make excuses every year they lose in the GBWC finals in Japan that's their choice.

If they keep losing maybe they should step aside and let non-Manila gunpla builders take a shot.....oh wait, that would mean admitting they've gone stale and we all know they'd never do that, heh.

    2. I'm planning to join gbwc this year. Join up too man. Let's show those crap builders how things should be done. A couple of visayans are already making waves recently. BTW, if any mechapinoy members are wondering what started this all, ask your member Richard Leo Borromeo what he said last year that perfectly described the current state of mechapinoy and model building on the Philippines. If he doesn't remember, that means he's lying to cover it up from the rest of you or he actually believes his own hype. Good luck getting him t admit it, heh heh.

  21. Lig: Richard Leo Borromeo Ramos here. I fully admit that I said a lot of denigrating stuff about Mechapinoy in the past year or two - but that is mostly in part because it turned out, I had gone on a different path from what Mechapinoy wanted as a group. I am now happy with my new community.

One of the things I learned, as time went on, is that it's easy to say a lot of horrible things about other people when you are in a bad place, or if you feel (whether true or not) that they have done a bad thing to you. However, what is more important is to get down to the root cause of it, and then forgive, let go, or some sort of similar action, then move on.

Right *now*, what I think of Mechapinoy is that I should have stepped down earlier, and then refused, at that point, to come back and help in running it again. What happened was is that I burned out. So, most, if not all of the horrible things I've said about Mechapinoy are probably me being burned out and on the verge of a nervous breakdown from thinking I was the only one running the org (which was also patently untrue). Is Mechapinoy arrogant? Honestly, it's just carinyo brutal. They love acting like arrogant people... *as a joke.* Unfortunately, most people don't pick that up. They are also pretty good at their modeling skills - whether or not other people find it dull, lacking, or not aesthetically pleasing is not my problem, since I find a lot of the builders to be pretty okay by me.

Does this mean I am covering up for Mechapinoy? Nope. It's me getting older, and realizing that I was not happy where I was, and I was becoming a monster (If I weren't already). Now that I am happy, I accept that the whole Mechapinoy thing was something I suppose I had to go through, to get where I am now. What they do now, what they are now is totally up to them, and getting me involved in the conversation at this point in time is very much unappreciated.

As for the state of model kit building here in the Philippines as it applies to Gundam, I think that many people - you included - take it too seriously. Or, perhaps, you really just like poking the beehive, because, you know, the lulz. From the technical aspect, I think it would be good for the Gundam community to look outward, to IPMS Philippines, to other countries, and see how they do theirs. And yes, basic skills are important.

I'd like to thank Karl for bringing this to my attention. Carry on, people, and have fun... GUNPLA IS FREEDOM!

    Hahahah!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Richard,

You're standing up for your friends, we get that. But your statement: "...They love acting like arrogant people... *as a joke.*..." comes too little, too late. Their own statements here prove that sentence quite false. Their continued attempts to justify their lack of creativity also shows just how thinskinned they really are. The fact that somebody ran crying to you about something this trivial only shows just how fragile their egos are. My other poster suggested we put in a random filipino builder's name. Your's was the first one to pop up alphabetically.

Really? such fragile egos. So easily needled into providing yet another reason as to why this group is truly just an international joke. This was all done over a $1 bet on how filipino ego is such a a delicate thing that they couldn't help but gang up on what they thought was a single person typing negative thing about them.

If this had been done to any other group in the world, that group would have called me/us a fag, laughed, and moved on. Yet here's mechapinoy desperately trying to justify its failings to AN ANONYMOUS INTERNET STRANGER whose opinion shouldn't matter to them in the least.

And yes, you're right. The hobby of gunpla building is just that: a hobby. But here we have a laughably untalented group of hasbeens that truly believe their own delusions. Funny indeed. They lack any real skill nowadays. They're more creative in making new excuses as to why they keep losing on the world stage. This is what's truly funny.

Please, you're not Kawaguchi-san, It's funny that you'd try to quote him in order to get non-filipino support here. Nice try though.

Thank you for proving my point. I guess I can donate the dollar I won to the Red Cross or something. Maybe they can give you guys some butt cream. Thank you for playing, be nice to other non-Manila groups....they do have more talent than mechapinoy does.....and they don't claim to represent an entire country heh heh..

  25. Why can't we all just GET ALONG. everything we do here is the same, build gunpla right? If the contest is "rigged" as other guys say, keep it to yourselves. Enjoy the competition, if you don't win, don't blame. Just be proud of what you've built and go...build another! it's art not war. Peace out! - Moeagre GANDAMU!
